IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BOOKING
Separate living levels
The upper and lower levels connect only by an outdoor staircase; there is no interior connection. Please make sure everyone in your group is comfortable with this arrangement before booking.
Children and safety
Families are welcome; however, Oak & Egret may not be suitable for young children. The patio, dock and tidal creek areas are not fenced or separated from the water. The second-floor deck also requires careful supervision. Children must be closely supervised in all outdoor areas.
Minimum renter age
The primary renter must be at least 25 years old and remain at the property throughout the stay. Reservations made using false information may result in denied check-in or a requirement to vacate the property immediately.
No parties or events
Parties and events are not permitted anywhere on the property. This policy is strictly enforced.
Parking
Parking is limited to a maximum of three vehicles.
Exterior security cameras
Exterior cameras are located at the front entrance, the bottom of the staircase, the outdoor bar and the dock area. The bar camera faces the tidal creek. All cameras are outdoors; there are no cameras inside the home or in private areas.
No smoking or vaping
Smoking and vaping are prohibited anywhere on the property. Violations may result in a $1,000 fee, additional cleaning charges, immediate eviction, and forfeiture of payments.
No pets
Pets are not permitted inside the home or anywhere on the grounds. We are happy to recommend a nearby pet boarding business.
DOCK & MARSH SAFETY
Dock safety and adult supervision
The dock sits on a tidal creek where water levels change throughout the day. Low tide exposes shallow water and sharp oyster beds. Swimming, diving, and jumping from the dock are strictly prohibited. Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult while on the dock.
Daytime-only dock access
Dock access is permitted only from sunrise to sunset. Please do not enter or use the dock after dark.
Patio and marsh edge
To preserve the open marsh views, there is no fence between the patio and the marsh. The patio sits above a seawall, with a vertical drop beyond its edge. Use caution near the perimeter and keep children under close adult supervision. Running or playing near the patio’s edge is prohibited.
Native wildlife
Oak & Egret sits in a beautiful coastal ecosystem, home to native wildlife. Alligators are a natural part of the Lowcountry environment and are occasionally seen in the creek. Do not approach, feed or attempt to touch any animal. Feeding wildlife is prohibited.
Thank you for helping us care for Oak & Egret and keep the property safe and welcoming for all guests.
